This finding looks at the relationship between religious participation and voter turnout.

Individuals who reported a high frequency of participation in church organizations and activities were more likely to vote in a presidential election than individuals who reported not participating in church organizations and activities.


Sample or Data Description
Data come from the General Social Surveys, conducted between 1974 and 1993, and the 1996 National Election Study. The final sample contained 1,193 respondents.
