Finding

This finding looks at the relationship between family structure and teen sexuality.

Among a sample of adolescent virgins, those who reported living with two married parents were roughly 40 percent less likely to engage in sexual activity before the follow-up interview approximately a year later than adolescents who were not living with two married parents.

Sample or Data Description
Data came from the first two waves of the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health. The final sample consisted of 4,862 adolescents who reported being virgins at the initial interview.
