Finding

This finding looks at the relationship between family structure and fathers' nurturing.

For all races, students from intact families reported a higher level of fathers’ nurturing than peers whose parents had divorced. Variance in levels of nurturing for different family structures was greater in reports from non-Hispanic Black, Hispanic, and mixed-race students than for non-Hispanic White and Asian students.

Sample or Data Description
Data come from an ethnically diverse sample of 1,989 university students, a subset of a larger sample, interviewed between 1998 and 2000.
