This finding looks at the relationship between teens’ church attendance and educational progress.

Church attendance was measured on a scale from 0 to 3 (0 indicated “never attended” and 3 meant “once per week or more”). An increase in an adolescent's church attendance level predicted a statistically significant improvement in academic progress, a composite outcome that included a number of measures related to how well students stayed on track in school.


Sample or Data Description
The data for this analysis came from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health, a longitudinal nationally representative study of American adolescents in grades 7 to 12. The final analytic sample size was 9,667 adolescents.
