Finding

This finding looks at the relationship between first-year maternal employment and three-year-olds' school readiness.

Full-time maternal employment before a child’s ninth month significantly predicted lower school readiness scores at 36 months even when controlling for both quality of care at home and quality of child care.

Sample or Data Description
Data collected from a national sample of 1,364 children.
