Half of all abortions are performed on women age 25 or older

Since the 1970s, the share of all abortions performed on teenage girls has decreased by nearly half. The share for women in their early twenties has increased slightly (up 3 percent) and the share for women age 25 and older has increased by more than 40 percent.
